Bloodhound - Large - Adult - Male - Dog - Basey
Description
****COURTESY LISTING**** Please contact Patricia Bobo @ 775-412-3928 Name: Basey Birth Date: 4/1/2004 Sex: Neutered Male Weight: ~70lbs Food: Raw Diet (raw chicken and beef organ meat) Likes: He loves high intensity exercising including running along on bike rides (at about 8mph) and quad rides (both running along side and riding in a specially designed crate on the back), camping, playing tug, playing with other larger dogs, and of course lots of attention. He is fully house trained. He likes having roam of the yard rather than being in a kennel. He does well with baths and does ok getting his nails trimmed (with one holding him and the other trimming). He walks great on a leash. We do put a prong collar on him but now rarely need to correct him. He is remote collar trained and also wears a bark collar when we are not home (he doesn't bark, he bays but not a lot; the bark collar is a preventative measure). He is a bit shy around men in the house but does great with everyone when he is out and about. He knows how to use a treadmill with supervision. He also lives with two cats, two birds, and a snake peacefully. Dislikes: Basey does not have a fondness for water (granted he will swim if you coax him a lot). He is ok with small children but when they start crying or screaming he gets a bit nervous; he is great with my 4yr old and 5yr old nieces but was nervous when they were babies. He does not like thunder, fireworks, or smoke alarms. He is also gun shy. He has improved significantly and now will just shake a little when he hears any of the above noises. He doesn't have an affinity for small bouncing dogs; he tries to avoid them. He does have separation anxiety if left alone. He does best with another dog or a family member at home with him. When we are not home he stays in a 10 x 10 kennel with our rottie. When we come home he is in the house with us. He is not crate trained. If he doesn't get enough exercise he will find something to chew on and he gets anxious.
